Die 1993 gegründete Gruppe veröffentlicht nahezu regelmäßig neue Alben,

mit denen sie ihren Stil von Album zu Album weiterentwickeln.

 

ODIUM wurde von Bands wie Black Sabbath, Motörhead, Metallica, Slayer,

Megadeth, Anthrax, Iron Maiden und anderen beeinflusst.

Trotzdem haben ODIUM ihren eigenen Stil und Sound gefunden.

Dieser unverkennbare Sound mit dem unverkennbaren Gesang sind

zum Markenzeichen der Band geworden.

 

 

ODIUM sind Live sehr aktiv und von Show zu Show wird das Fanpublikum immer größer.

Wer Odium auf der Bühne erlebt hat, spürte die Kraft und die grenzenlose Energie von ODIUM.

 

Die Texte von ODIUM beschäftigen sich mit den menschlichen Abgründen, die sehr oft aus Themen

wie Hass und Tod resultieren. Man nimmt aber auch menschliche Tragödien auf und lässt dem Hörer

genügend Raum, um seine eigene (kranke) Fantasiewelt zu entwickeln.

 

 

Um immer eine international klingende Produktion zu liefern, arbeitete die Band mit

Bekannten Produzenten wie Martin Buchwalter, Andy Classen und Marc Bugnard zusammen.

Die Zeitschrift "Metal Hammer" bezeichnete ODIUM als "eine der besten Bands im deutschen Underground".

 

2012 nahm "Noiseheadrecords" die Band unter Vertrag und die CD "Beautiful Violence " entstand als erste gemeinsame CD.Sie wurde von der Szene gefeiert und war eine erste Duftmarke mit einem Label hinter der Band.

 

Zwei Jahre später (2014) erschien die CD "The Science Of Dying" bei der der ehemalige IROn maiden Sänger Paul dianno sogar einen song beisteuerte. "Die with pride" war seine erste Studioaufnahme seit 8 Jahren!

Die CD und LP wurde über NHR veröffentlicht und erhielt ein äußerst positives Feedback und war die erste CD, welche nach dem sie ausverkauft war, neu aufgelegt wurde!

Das Interesse an der Band und der Musik wuchs unaufhörlich, so dass man fast jede Woche Live auf

Der Bühne Stand. Doch während der 2015er Tour erlitt Sänger Ralf einen Herzinfarkt und die Band musste einen großen Teil der Tour absagen.

 

Erst 4 Monate später betraten sie die Bühne wieder. Die Tour „The science of dying“ wurde in „back from the dead“ umbenannt! Und diesmal wurde die Tour wie geplant beendet.

 

Im  April 2017 endete die „Back from the Dead“ -Tour und ODIUM enterten erneut die Gernhart Studios.

Diesmal für ein neues Label: "MDD / Black Sunset Records" hatten ODIUM für die nächste CD unter Vertrag genommen.

"As The World Turns Black" wurde im August 2017 weltweit veröffentlicht und ist erstmals auch in Spotify, Amazon und ähnlichen Versionen erhältlich gewesen. Das Cover wurde von Björn Gooßes von Killustrations gemalt. Und es hat es in die 100 Top Album Cover Artworks weltweit geschafft!

 

2018 feierten ODIUM Ihr 25-jähriges Bestehen mit einer speziellen 3-Stunden-Show und einer speziellen CD mit dem Titel „Die frühen Jahre 1993-1998“.

Viele ehemalige Mitglieder kamen mit auf die Bühne und ein besonderer Gast: Gerre, Sänger der deutschen Thrashmetal Band TANKARD!

Headliner-Shows in Deutschland, Belgien und den Niederlanden bestätigen immer wieder, dass ODIUM ein sehr hohes Ansehen genießen.

ODIUM teilten  die Bühnen mit einigen der besten Bands der Szene wie PAUL DIANNO, DESTRUCTION, TESTAMENT, TANKARD, NIGHTWISH, EXODUS,

OBITUARY, HOLY MOSES, RAGE, DEAD SOUL TRIBE, AXXIS und so vielen anderen, die wir hier nicht erwähnen können. Vielen Dank für Euer Vertrauen in ODIUM!

This combination describes ODIUM from Frankfurt am Main.

The group, founded in 1993, consistently releases new albums,through which they continue to evolve their style from album to album.

ODIUM has been influenced by bands such as Black Sabbath, Motörhead, Metallica, Slayer,Megadeth, Anthrax, Iron Maiden, and others.

Nevertheless, ODIUM has found their own style and sound.

This unmistakable sound, along with the distinctive vocals, hasbecome the hallmark of the band.

 

ODIUM is highly active in live performances, and from show to show, the fan audience continues to grow.

Those who have experienced ODIUM on stage have felt the power and boundless energy of ODIUM.

 

ODIUM's lyrics delve into the depths of human nature, often stemming from themes like hatred and death. They also explore human tragedies, allowing the listener sufficient space to develop their own (disturbed) fantasy world.

 

To consistently deliver an internationally appealing production, the band collaborated with

renowned producers such as Martin Buchwalter, Andy Classen, and Marc Bugnard.

 

The magazine "Metal Hammer" described ODIUM as "one of the best bands in the German underground."

 

In 2012, "Noiseheadrecords" signed the band, and the CD "Beautiful Violence" was created as their first joint album.

It was celebrated by the scene and marked the first milestone with a label backing the band.

Two years later (2014), the CD "The Science Of Dying" was released, featuring former Iron Maiden singer Paul Di'Anno contributing a song. "Die with pride" was his first studio recording in 8 years!

The CD and LP were released via NHR and received extremely positive feedback, becoming the first CD to be reissued after selling out.

Interest in the band and their music continued to grow, resulting in almost weekly live performances.

However, during the 2015 tour, singer Ralf suffered a heart attack, forcing the band to cancel a significant portion of the tour.

They returned to the stage four months later. The "The Science of Dying" tour was renamed "Back from the Dead," and this time, the tour was successfully completed as planned.

In April 2017, the "Back from the Dead" tour concluded, and ODIUM once again entered Gernhart Studios.

This time for a new label: "MDD / Black Sunset Records" had signed ODIUM for their next CD.

"As The World Turns Black" was globally released in August 2017 and was also made available on platforms like Spotify, Amazon, and others for the first time. The cover was painted by Björn Gooßes of Killustrations and made it into the top 100 album cover artworks worldwide!

 

In 2018, ODIUM celebrated their 25th anniversary with a special 3-hour show and a special CD titled "Die frühen Jahre 1993-1998."

Many former members joined them on stage, along with a special guest: Gerre, the singer of the German Thrash Metal legend TANKARD!

Headliner shows in Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands consistently confirm ODIUM's high reputation.

 

ODIUM shared the stage with some of the best bands in the scene, such as PAUL DIANNO, DESTRUCTION, TESTAMENT, TANKARD, NIGHTWISH, EXODUS, OBITUARY, HOLY MOSES, RAGE, DEAD SOUL TRIBE, AXXIS, and many others we cannot mention here. Thank you for your trust in ODIUM!
